How can I control who sees my contact details?

When you become a member your contact details are set as not visible by default. As the holder of your profile however you always see your own contact details without restriction. There are two ways though that you can share it with individual XING members. It is not possible to share or hide your contact details for several or all members at once.

Sending or confirming a contact request:

For every contact request that you send, you can decide which data you wish to share with that person just to the right of the message window under "Your data sharing settings". The "Save as default" button allows you to automatically preset these settings for your future contact requests.

Editing the shared personal info for your existing contacts:

  1. Go to Your network and then click on You have XYZ contacts on top of the page.
  2. Click on the menu button on the right next to a particular contact in your list.
  3. Click Edit shared personal info in the menu that drops down.
  4. In the window that now opens you can release your contact details and date of birth for this member by checking the relevant boxes (or unchecking them as appropriate).
