What are cookies and why do I need them to log in?

Cookies are small text files containing information stored by a user's browser. In order that you may be clearly identified while using XING, you must accept cookies. You won't be able to log in to XING if they're not activated.

The following is a short guide to allowing cookies in various different browsers:

 

In Mozilla Firefox click on:

  1. Open the menu (the button with the three horizontal bars in the top right corner)
  2. Preferences
  3. Privacy
  4. Next to "Firefox will:" select remember history.

In Google Chrome click on:

  1. Open the menu (the button with the three horizontal bars in the top right corner)
  2. Settings
  3. Show advanced settings (right at the bottom)
  4. Under Privacy go to Content settings
  5. Select Allow local data to be set (recommended)
  6. Then click Done to save your changes.

In Microsoft Edge click on:

  1. Open the menu (the button with the three dots in the top ricght corner)
  2. Settings
  3. View advanced settings
  4. Under Cookies choose Don't block cookies.

In Opera click on:

  1. Tools
  2. Preferences
  3. Privacy & security
  4. Under Cookies select the option Allow local data to be set (recommended).

In Apple Safari click as a Mac user on:

  1. Safari
  2. Preferences
  3. Privacy
  4. Under Cookies and website data select the option Allow from websites I visit or Always allow.
